Men impersonating DEA agents invade, ransack home

This is a dangerous trend since the police now have the power to do a knock down door entry without a warrant.  How do you know that it’s not the police?  If you don’t get an apology letter 3 days later for getting the wrong address then you’ll know.

STANDISH, Maine — Maine police say four men pretending to be drug agents are blamed for a home invasion in which a 6-year-old girl watched as four adults were handcuffed.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Departments say the assailants claiming to be from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration knocked down the door and used plastic ties to handcuff two of the adults Friday morning. A gun was pointed at the head of one of the victims.

The assailants ransacked the house and stole purses and prescription drugs. They disappeared after telling the occupants they were going outside to get a drug-sniffing dog.

Deputies said they didn’t get a good description because the men were wearing ski masks, but detectives recovered evidence from the home.

  1. I’ve been telling my kids for years that if people come busting down our doors, they are to go in a closet and dial 911, even if they say they ARE the cops. Better safe than sorry nowadays.

  2. I would tell my kids that too if any of them still lived at home, now I’m recommending to them that they arm themselves, shoot and ask questions later. Of course that poses a problem if it really is SWAT.

This wouldn’t be an issue if the police didn’t have the right to “No Knock” activity. I’m sorry, they don’t have the “RIGHT”, they have the “PRIVILEGE”, the “RIGHT” to be secure in our homes is ours.

  3. Home invasions are increasing rapidly. These thugs know that there is less of a chance getting caught burglarizing a home then robbing businesses.
So stay safe, be vigilant, install deadbolts and keep alarm activated. If you don’t have an alarm system try for the most affordable monitored alarm system in the nation.
